Task
Pursuant to the Government Performance and Results Act, the Regional
Educational Laboratories (REL) of the U.S. Department of Education developed
performance indicators to assess their effectiveness. C&A conducted
an audit study of the REL performance indicators and the process by
which the RELs collect and process the performance data. (2002)
Outcome/Impact
The audit confirmed the reliability and validity of the data and data
collection process for the REL performance indicators. C&A also
provided recommendations that were adopted by the RELs to enhance the
efficiency of the performance indicators’ management information
system.
